Mashantucket Pequot Historic Homestead Restoration Elizabeth George House | Ledyard, CT
The restoration of the Elizabeth George house, a part of the Mashantucket Pequot Cultural Grounds, was a labor of love and a project that took several months to complete. The original foundation dating back to the 1600’s had been built on and rebuilt for centuries now.
We rebuilt and restored the house to resemble a few photos taken over the last 150 years and spoke to people who grew up in the home. Doors were replicated using photo references and a new center chimney was built to replace the collapsed one.
We had the wallpaper we found under layers of walls and paint replicated close to the original. We repurposed as much from the house as we could, and we reused wood for authentic finishes throughout the home.
